In October 2022, nine apprentices in car mechanics and bodywork accompanied by Mrs Monnet, Mobility Coordinator, and Mrs Lagarmite, Art Instructor at the UFA, had a beautiful and unforgettable time in DUBLIN during two weeks as part of the ERASMUS+ program.
These two weeks were packed with daytime work in partner garages in Dublin, improving the English language skills of the students.
They also discovered exciting places during their free time including a visit to Trinity College’s library, Ireland’s largest library, they attended a rugby match, toured the Guinness Brewery, and more.
This trip left a lasting impact on our young apprentices – as they say, “travel broadens the mind.”
Thanks to their technical skills and independence the students made a positive impression on garages owners, who wholeheartedly agreed to repeat the experience and this made us want to organize new trips.
Coming up next: Dublin in November 2023 and Ottawa in April 2024 !
DUBLIN November 2023
So, we have a good news! We’ve received an agreement from the ERASMUS+ Exchange Program to return to Dublin in November 5, 2023, for two weeks with 9 apprentices.
We can’t wait to meet our partners cars workshops, who seem also enthusiastic.
OTTAWA 2024
And we’ll be also on the way to Ottawa, Canada, in April 2024. Cécile Monnet and Fanny Lagarmite visited Ottawa in June 2023 to prepare in advance the ERASMUS+ stay in April 2024.
They met car workshops owners and entered into a partnership with 7 cars workshops, providing a total of 8 internship places for our apprentices in various specialties, including motorcycle mechanic, automobile mechanic, car body and body painting.
Cécile Monnet and Fanny Lagarmite were warmly welcomed in Ottawa.
Back in France, they began organizing interviews, including motivation letters, with our volunteer apprentices to select those who will have the opportunity to live this wonderful experience.
